On Sunday, September 9, Bishop Bill traveled to St. Paul’s Anglican Mission in Waltham, MA, where The Rev. Michael Kafeero was installed as vicar. It was a wonderful Sunday of reconciliation and the restoration of unity to the Anglican Diocese in New England’s Ugandan archdeaconry. The Ven. Alex Kasirye-Musoke, Archdeacon to our Ugandan churches, served alongside Bishop Bill.
During the service, Archdeacon Alex licensed two lay readers and assisted Bishop Bill in the installation of The Rev. Michael as the mission’s new vicar. Several women were also received into the Mother’s Union and several men into the North American Anglican Men’s Association. William Ssebuwufu, the new Chairman of the mission’s vestry, brought greetings and expressed great love for and solidarity with the diocese on behalf of the congregation. Fr. John Kalimi, assisting priest at St. Vincent’s Catherdral, in the Diocese of Ft. Worth, and head of African ministries, visited St. Paul’s in order to show his support for the work of the Ugandan communities in Boston.
St. Paul’s is excited about sending a delegation to the East African festival at Faith Anglican Church in Bridgewater the weekend of August 31st to September 2nd. They will also be sending a Synod delegation this year for the election of the new bishop. Please keep this community in your prayers!
