On March 11, The Rev. Lance Williams was ordained as priest in the ADNE at All Saints Anglican Cathedral, Amesbury. Mixed in with readings from the lectionary for Lent 3, the ordination service was a sober reminder of the call to priesthood. Bishop Bill celebrated and preached the sermon, which can be heard below. The service included Fr. Lance’s oath of conformity, canonical obedience, and adherence to the scriptures, which was read after he was presented. Following the sermon, he was examined, after which he received the laying on of hands.
The Rev. Lance Williams spent a full 27 year career in industrial tooling before feeling led to Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, where he graduated in 2015. He was ordained as Deacon in 2016. He will be serving as priest at All Saints Anglican Cathedral and in his vocational call as chaplain for Seafarer’s Friend, a ministry to merchant mariners in the ports of Boston and Portsmouth, NH. He currently lives in Epping, NH with his wife Laura and has four grown children and eight grandchildren.
Please join the ADNE in praying for him, that he will be strengthened with all faith to persevere in his service to God and His Church.
