Bishop Bill traveled to the Diocese of Pittsburgh on Friday, February 22, in order to spend it in conversation with executive leadership of the Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO). This collegiate ministry is more than 40 years old and sees 30,000 college students per week at Bible studies across the country. They are operational in 17 states. Coalition on campuses form between existing evangelical parachurch ministries and the local church for collaboration and ministry development to draw university students into a relationship with Jesus Christ. The Anglican Church in North America partnered with CCO in order to release staff workers throughout North America to develop a leadership pipeline between the university and local churches.
Bishop Bill addressed a dinner to explain and extol that important concept and to exhort the gathered leadership into deeper partnership with one another going forward. His own testimony was the basis of that witness, as the founder of CCO, the Rev. Dr. Robert Long, was the man who discipled him in his early days through Young Life here in the North Shore.
